Introduction:
The Term haveli describes the traditional Indian mansion
or Courtyard house, a large Family residence built around
one or several Central Courtyard, with external walls
rising directly against public streets. Standing on the foot of Mehrangarh Fort, Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli is an authentic heritage haveli, lovingly resorted, to serve as as a comfortable oasis for resent day travelers in their quest for the charms of Rajasthan. The Haveli built by Late Shri Ram Chandra Mathur, SP, Marwar State and later residence of Late Shri Harish Chandra Mathur, Home Minister, Marwar State & Member of Indian Parliament, is the largest treasure chest of such mansions with well preserved paintings. The present family carried out the restoration of their ancestral home taking care to retain the integrity of its original style. Now converted into a Heritage Hotel, Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli opens doorway to a unique experience of the Marwar region by bringing back to life the grandeur of old days. The Haveli has been lovingly refubished and renovated and while still retaining its original character it now boasts of all modern amenities. |

This magnificent
sandstone building with its imposing but delicately carved
exterior and simple yet comfortable interiors is a genuine
heritage edifice in a sylvan setting, stands as an oasis
of hospitality, pageantry and Marwari charm. All efforts
have been made to preserve the historical identity and
integrity of the haveli despite its modernizing environs.
It tastefully blends old charm with best of modern amenities.
Present day facilities are harmonized so as not to disturb
the antiquity of the royal abode. Krishna Prakash Heritage
Haveli exudes an aura distinctly its own - enhanced by
its rich and varied collection of paintings, treasure
troves etc of yesteryears, all so well preserved by the
Mathur family, which still uses a part of the Krishna
Prakash Heritage Haveli as its home.
Overlooking the seemingly invincible Mehrangarh Fort on
one side and the gigantic Umaid Bhawan Palace on the other,

of a bygone era, like no other place.
There are eighteen elegantly appointed rooms with an eye
for historical detail & cultural themes of Rajasthan
with attached modern bathroom with round the clock hot

view of the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, the royal Family's
Cenotaphs at Jaswant Thada, Clock Tower & Old City

Family Background: This heritage property
has been the Royal Residence of Late Shri Harish Chandra
Mathur (uncle of present owner), Chief Secretary and then
Home Minister of the former Marwar (Jodhpur) state, who
later became leading and top notch member of Indian Parliament
for more than two decades. |
The grandfather of the present owner was Superintendent
of Police of the Marwar State, also stayed here
along with his sons Late Shri K.C. Satsangi (Former
Chairman and Chief Engineer, Rajasthan Electricity
Board) and Late Shri Prakash Chandra Mathur (leading
civil lawyer and long time practitioner at Rajasthan
High Court). Later it was occupied by present owner
Professor Navin Mathur (son of Late Shri Prakash
Chandra Mathur), an eminent management educationist
and former Municipal Counselor of Jodhpur.

distance of 4 Kms. from Airport, 2 Kms. from Railway
Station, 2.0 Kms from Bus Stand: barely minutes
away from most major shopping, business or commercial,
the hotel is located in the pulsating heart of the
